Are you ready to celebrate your greatness?

January 26th, 2012 by admin

Quick question: When was the last time you stopped and acknowledged your achievements?
Was it today? If so, congratulations! You are among a minority.
Now is the time to stop and acknowledge your successes, no matter how big or small. Stop thinking that you have to keep on ticking boxes in your to-do list.

This is not about being egotistical or ‘big headed’. It’s about taking the time to appreciate all that you do. It is also a time to learn from not only your achievements but also mistakes. Ask yourself what you can do differently next time.

Here are three ways to start acknowledging yourself.

1. Blue-sky time.
When I work with some of our top leaders, I often speak to them about the concept of blue-sky time. This is when you take time out each day (yep, each day) away from phones, blackberries and emails. It’s the time when you think about your day and acknowledge what is going well for you, the successes you have had, and what you need to do differently.

2. Celebration book.
Do you get great feedback from clients? Do you get great feedback from family and friends? Why not start your own ‘Celebration Book’ and surround yourself with reminders of your success. Grab a journal and jot down thoughts about what you are doing well. Add the fabulous testimonials you get from clients. Get your immediate family to write notes in it. Add the things that remind you to celebrate YOU.

3. Work with a mentor or coach.
Why? Because in most cases, this person will ask to hear about your successes and wins and then encourage or force you to take the time to celebrate what you have achieved, no matter how big or small those achievements are. This is the one person who is focused solely on you, your success and your greatness, and will hold this vision for you.

Appreciating and celebrating yourself is a gift. Watch what happens when you use it. Your life and your business will expand, because this gift is infectious!

Understanding the Care Quality Commission’s Service Types

January 25th, 2012 by admin

All health and social care providers are required to register with the Care Quality Commission to demonstrate that they are meeting the standards laid out by the CQC in the delivery of their services. The standards that you are required to meet and are expected to demonstrate before you can gain registration, vary depending on the service type that you as an organisation, individual or partnership, are classified as.

The Care Quality Commission has defined 28 different types in all and it is essential that you determine which ‘type’ or ‘types’ your organisation is classified as before you begin the CQC registration process. Failing to identify the correct categories could mean that you fail to realise certain standards that are expected of you, which in turn could result in your application being rejected. It is important to note that you may fall into more than one category and in this instance you need to address all of the standards defined within all of the categories that you fall within.

The following details all of the types available, their associated codes, as used by the CQC, and an example of the kind of service that may fall within each of the categories:

1. Acute services – ACS

24. Shared lives (Formerly adult placement) – SHL

26. Ambulance services – AMB

27. Blood and transport services – BTS
• NHS Blood and transport

28. Remote clinical advice – RCA

The examples given above are by no means an exhaustive list and the range of organisations that need to be regulated by the Care Quality Commission is extensive, so if you provide any form of health or social care then you will almost certainly fall within one of the above service types.

5 Tips for Public Speaking

January 24th, 2012 by admin

Public speaking can be a very intimidating thing to many individuals. For a lot of people, just the thought of having to talk in front of a group of people makes them begin to cower in fear. There are many different words of wisdom friends, family, or co-workers have to offer. I can give you 10 tips you can use when its your turn to do some public speaking.

1–Clean Look

No matter if its a business meeting or just speaking at a podium, you want to look presentable. Taking the time to make sure you can look your best will also make you focused and calm for your public speaking event. The more professional you look the more professional you will feel and speak as well.

2–Research your topic

Take the time to educate yourself on the topic you will be discussing. If you feel really confident with your knowledge on the subject you are speaking on, then you are preparing yourself for any questions the audience might have.

3–Personalize

Fashion consultant Tim Gunn on the reality television show Project Runway is known for the saying “Talk to me”. Keep this saying in mind, a good way to break the ice is to interact with the audience. You can add some personalization to your topic by sharing a personal story and having it relating to your topic. Another good way is to add some humor to your speech to lighten the mood as well.

4–Practice, practice, practice

Tim Gunn usually tells the designers on Project Runway “Make it work”, apply this to your speech lay out. Practice saying your speech aloud so you can hear how it will sound to your audience, make edits and switch sentences around if needed, make it work so it sounds smooth and natural.

5–Pace yourself

What tends to happen when people get nervous is that their speech starts to speed up. Pace yourself on your speech, you want your audience to be able to understand your message to them, if you are talking to fast they will not be able to hear or understand your message. Just stay calm and pace yourself and your audience will get a clear understanding of your words.

Salesforce

As one of the more powerful and extensive CRM services available, Salesforce is a very popular choice for small to large businesses. What’s more it can be used as a platform to develop further applications and software packages for your organisation. In these cases you need to find a Salesforce developer that is skilled and appropriately qualified to work with the unique system.

Salesforce Developer Training

A professional Salesforce developer can take various certificates and exams through the force website. These applications teach developers how to work effectively with the platform. By ensuring that you use a Salesforce developer that has undertaken one or more of these courses you can be sure that they have the knowledge and the skill to create Software as a Service or to take your entire organisation’s computing into the cloud.

Coding

Salesforce does use proprietary coding which is quite unique when compared to other CRM solutions and other software packages and this means that developers without the appropriate qualifications effectively need to fill in the blanks themselves; many of those blanks still remain without thorough and full training. 21st Century Leadership – Making it easy for followers

January 22nd, 2012 by admin

The best leaders make it easy for people to follow them. People follow leaders who provide clear direction by making it easy to know what is happening, and what they need to do, when and with whom.
Leaders need people to work together to achieve business goals. In the past, web and mobile technology was not a significant tool for leaders.
However advances in web and mobile technology can now make it significantly easier to provide the direction and feedback followers need, in close to real-time, from anywhere, at any time. Consequently it is expected that leaders who embrace new technologies will achieve significantly more than those who rely on largely manual methods.
In the 20th century when followers were largely collocated and could interact with leaders on an as required basis, leaders could personally ensure that relevant people knew what was happening and knew what to do. However in the 21st century, timely personal interactions are extremely difficult. People are more dispersed, changes are more frequent and rapid, overwhelming amounts of information are available, and a wide range of work practices are employed.
If followers don’t know what a leader wants done, they will default to do the things that please the people around them, because this way they can achieve positive feedback. A leader can achieve business goals in a minimum time with minimum effort by making it clear what needs to be done, maintaining focus and checking that it has been done.
In the 20th century leaders could get away with providing general direction and imposing themselves into situations when they felt people were straying from their direction. In the 21st century, this “make it up as you go along” approach will be extremely difficult and stressful to sustain. The leader’s personal influence will need to be distributed to all followers at a time and place that suits the follower, not the leader.
While 20th century leadership relied on little technology to provide direction, focus and to keep relevant people informed; 21st century leadership will need to effectively use technology to develop and sustain enough direction for people to follow. Without real-time influence at the time and place that a follower requires; leaders will find it extremely difficult to influence what is being done.
Without appropriate technologies, leaders will default to asking people what is happening and then trying to influence what they are doing. This continual asking what is happening causes a rapid breakdown in trust between the leader and followers. Followers become defensive and leaders become frustrated, so they seek more information that further reduces trust.
Fortunately for leaders there is a relatively simple solution to keep yourself and relevant people informed and to ensure that people know what to do, when and with whom. It involves using a mix of traditional methods with the use of technology to sort out and present critical information at the time and place required by the leader and relevant followers.
Dr Neil Miller has developed and validated these methods over 10 years. The web and mobile technology required to make the methods easy to apply globally are now readily available to most leaders and followers. So the time is right for leaders and followers to use technology to make it easy to know how to best contribute to keep work flowing to achieve business goals with a minimum of time and effort. Six Things about Natural Mole Removal You Should Know

January 19th, 2012 by admin

There are a variety of natural mole removal formulas out there, but all work on the same principals.

1. The Procedure
The good thing about natural mole removal is that it can be done in the comfort of your own home. The area to be treated should be cleaned. The mole then, must be lightly scratched with a needle or pumice stone so that the formula can penetrate. The mole removal cream is then applied to the mole and remains on for the set time for that specific formula. A scab should appear within 24-48 hours, which should NOT be removed prematurely. The scab will fall of naturally revealing healthy skin underneath.

2. How Do I Know It’s Working?
When the formula is working, a mild to strong stinging sensation will be felt. If this is not felt, the mole should be scratched with a needle slightly deeper. This is not very painful nor does it require anesthesia or numbing cream.

3. How Long Will It Take To Remove The Mole?
Typically, the mole should recede or start to scab within 24 hours. The scab may take 7-10 days to fall off. After the scab has fallen off there may be slightly red tissue, which is typical after a scab, this color should disappear with clear skin showing within 30 days.

4. Will It Leave A Scar?
Of all the removal methods, natural mole removal is the one less likely to leave a scar if done correctly. As there is no incision, no scar should occur unless the scab is pulled off prematurely. Take care of the scab and it should heal just as any other scab heals.

5. How Much Does Natural Mole Removal Cost?
Prices vary for the different formulas from $25-$80. Keep in mind that these formulas can be used to remove up to 10 moles. Natural mole removal is by far the cheapest method and the best value for your dollar.

6. What Are the Risks Of Natural Mole Removal?
As in other removal options, infection is a risk. This can be hugely reduced by making sure that proper cleaning and sterilization is used and that the scab is well taken care of. Moles should be examined prior to removal as this method should not be used on malignant moles. These are topical formulas and should not be eaten.

So what natural mole removal product do I recommend?
To remove my moles I used a product called Dreamland. I had excellent results and am mole frees to this day. I really couldn’t be happier with this product. I will write about my experience with dreamland in another article, but personally, I believe natural mole removal is the only way to go.

Project Management Outsourcing – Adding Value to your business

January 18th, 2012 by admin

It is a challenge for every business when it has to take a call on outsourcing. Activities which are temporary in nature, need to be outsourced, as an organization would not want to sink in a permanent investment in terms of personnel, equipment and technology for a one time project. For example, if you want to automate your marketing functions, it makes more sense to outsource the automation to an outside consultant firm. You need not worry about the backend technologies. The consultant can then train your staff in the required front end processes, for a smooth handover of your operations.

Outsourcing also occurs when your in house project department is inadequate to fulfill the needs of a large project your company has undertaken. Efficient outsourcing can complement your in house project competencies too. Whatever the need for outsourcing a project, every outsourcing decision requires considerable debating by the management on its pros and cons.

Some major benefits of outsourcing projects besides the cost savings are:

• A new dimension: when you bring in an outside consultant, they come with the latest concepts and the best workable trends in your industry. They give you a new perspective on your project and may be able to provide better inputs during the planning, controlling, directing and execution stages.

• Increase in ROI: besides being an expert a consultant also ensures the following of practices which will give you a higher return on investment versus your in house team, as this is what they have been specifically been hired to do.

• Let you focus on core competencies: as a consultant takes care of all the peripheries of the project, you can focus on the core competencies of your business. This lets you be in control of your operations without having to bother about the areas which do not fetch you any value.

• Gives your personnel future solutions: should similar projects crop up in your organization at a later date, your employees will be better equipped to handle them in the future even without the presence of a consultant. So you end up building the competencies of your employees in house.

However, when you do outsource your projects keep in mind that the consultant is temporary and that your organization should build a solid relationship with them to bring out the best. Respect the consultants ideas and also bring forth your own to get maximum returns. Let your working relationship be smooth and hire a consultant with experience and goodwill in the industry. This will prevent the compromise of sensitive information from your company through the back door.

Realize that everyone on the project has to do their job; else the end will not meet the company goals. You can put in place mechanisms, which will measure the contribution of the consultant and your in house employees, to make any future outsourcing decisions.

Thus, before you outsource check out your competencies, the necessity for outsourcing and the benefits that will accrue. You will have taken the best decision for your organization.

Forming a Company: Where To Start?

January 18th, 2012 by admin

Knowing where to start forming a company is the basic information necessary for every entrepreneur. Because of this, we will be introducing some information which we think would help local and foreign entrepreneurs form a Singapore company.

Singapore has made Singapore company registration more secured and comfortable. Almost every business processes are fully computerized thus resulting to a faster incorporation. In most cases, if all requirements are available, processing can be accomplished within 3 hours.

First thing to do if you wish to form a Singapore company is to hire a professional business registration firm, which will facilitate all the submission of documents and business registration processes and concerns.

Below are the common things to consider on Singapore company registration.

Investors should come up with a decision on what business structure is suitable on their business operation. The considerations and concerns when you form a Singapore company depend on the type of business structure. The foreign business structures include the following:
• Branch office: A branch office is an extension of its foreign parent company and is not a separate legal entity. Liabilities extend to the parent company.
• Subsidiary: A subsidiary is a Singapore private limited company and is a separate legal entity. Liability is limited to the subsidiary and does not extend to the foreign parent company.
• Representative office (RO): A RO has no legal status and is a temporary administrative office meant for conducting market research or co-coordinating activities. Liabilities extend to the foreign parent company.

After choosing a business structure, investors can now proceed by securing necessary documents which includes the following:
• The approved name of your Singapore corporation;
• A brief description of the proposed business activities that your Singapore corporation will engage in;
• Particulars of the Singapore corporation’s directors, shareholders and company
• The corporation’s Memorandum and Articles of Association (MAA);
• Passport copies or Singapore Identity card (IC) copies of proposed shareholders and directors;
• Residential address proof of proposed non-resident shareholders and directors; and
• Details of the parent company if the shareholder is a corporate body.

Work visa is another significant item in forming a Singapore company. The following are two of the most common work visas used by foreign companies.
• Employment Pass – work visa for foreign professional working in Singapore. Foreign individuals who incorporate a Singapore company and wish to run its operations in the country must also apply for an EP. Non-Singaporean shareholders or managing directors of a Singapore company are also eligible to apply.
• EntrePass – work visa that caters to foreign entrepreneurs who lack the appropriate tertiary education or specialist skills qualification, but have proven records of successful accomplishment in business ventures.
